The Michael Bauer School is a Waldorf school in Stuttgart-Vaihingen .

history

The school was founded in 1969. It is named after Michael Bauer (1871–1929). In 1972 the support class area was introduced. After finishing school, the pupils can complete an apprenticeship at the Michael-Bauer-Werkhof, a private vocational school. The school is part of the Camphill movement .

In 1985 the youth circus Circus Calibastra was founded, which was part of the Michael Bauer School for about ten years and has been independent in cooperation with the school since 1994.

On October 10, 2015, the new building of the Michael Bauer school campus with new rooms for sports, art classes, cooking and the after-school care area was inaugurated by the state parliament's vice-president Brigitte Lösch and the mayor Fritz Kuhn .

The school won first prize in the L-Bank's “Magic” 2018 creative competition . The award ceremony was carried out by the patron Susanne Eisenmann , Minister of Culture of Baden-Württemberg.

Between 2000 and 2015 Thomas Geve attended school and reported as a Holocaust survivor . Yearbooks of the Michael Bauer School were published in 2005 and 2010.
