Michael Benndorf

Michael Benndorf (born May 11, 1952 in Berlin ) was President of the Higher Administrative Court of the State of Saxony-Anhalt in Magdeburg .

Life

Benndorf studied law from 1970 to 1977 in Erlangen , Tübingen and Göttingen . From 1977 he did his preparatory service in the district of the Hamburg Higher Regional Court . In 1980 he received his doctorate. jur. A year later he was accepted into the judicial service in Lower Saxony.

From 1984 Benndorf was head of division in the Lower Saxony Ministry of Justice and lecturer at the Georg-August University in Göttingen. In 1989 he became a judge at the Higher Regional Court and was seconded to the Lower Saxony Ministry of Justice. In 1991 he was seconded to Saxony-Anhalt as director of the Wernigerode district court . In 1992 he moved to the Ministry of Justice of the State of Saxony-Anhalt as Head of the Ministerial Council. In 1994 he became President of the Magdeburg Administrative Court , and in 2003 he became Ministerial Director and Head of the Legal Department in the Ministry of Justice of the State of Saxony-Anhalt. From 2004 until his retirement in June 2017 he was President of the Higher Administrative Court of Saxony-Anhalt. Michael Benndorf is also chairman of the arbitration committee of the Saxony-Anhalt Chamber of Engineers and deputy chairman of the ecclesiastical court of the Evangelical Church in Germany .
