Michael Bienert (London 2013)

Michael Bienert (born July 31, 1964 in Kaiserslautern ) is a German journalist and literary scholar.

From 1982 Bienert studied German and philosophy in Berlin and Marburg (Lahn) . Since 1989 he has been working as a non-fiction author, cultural journalist and city guide in Berlin. From 1998 to 2013 he reported as a theater critic and cultural correspondent for the Stuttgarter Zeitung from Berlin. From 2015 to 2017 he was a lecturer at the Center for Metropolitan Studies (Institute for Art History and Historical Urban Studies) at the Technical University of Berlin. He is best known for numerous books on the literary and cultural history of Berlin.
