Homosexuality is taboo in large parts of society in Chad , and homosexual acts have been illegal since August 2017.

There is no anti-discrimination law in Chad . There is no state recognition of same-sex couples either in the form of same-sex marriage or in a registered partnership in Chad. Homosexual acts became illegal as a result of a revision of the Criminal Code effective August 1, 2017.
