Homosexual acts have been legal in the newly adopted Criminal Code since 2004. There has been an anti-discrimination law to protect sexual orientation in the workplace since 2008 in Cape Verde . There is no state recognition of same-sex couples either in the form of same-sex marriage or in a registered partnership in Cape Verde.
