Michael Brüggemann (communication scientist)

Michael Brüggemann is a German communication scientist and university professor. Since 2015 he has been Professor of Communication Science, Climate and Science Communication at the University of Hamburg .

academic career

Brüggemann studied communication science and graduated with a diploma thesis published in 2002 by Fischer-Verlag on cross-media networking of print and online . From 2002 to 2007 he worked in research and teaching at the Universities of Munich and Bremen . In 2007 he received his doctorate from the University of Hamburg. phil. In 2010 he moved to the University of Zurich as a senior assistant . 2014 he was in Zurich with a thesis on Transnational communication and journalism in transition habilitation . In February 2015, the University of Hamburg appointed him professor for communication science, climate and science communication, where he is active as a research group leader at the Cluster of Excellence "Integrated Climate System Analysis and Prediction" (CliSAP).
