Michael Brammann

Michael Brammann (born November 7, 1947 ) is a German sound engineer and has been a lecturer for studio technology at the Institute for Hearing Technology and Audiology at Jade University in Oldenburg, where he was appointed honorary professor in December 2017.

Brammann has many years of experience as a sound engineer and was responsible for sound recording and mixing for over a thousand LP and CD releases .

In about 35 years Michael Brammann took all Bach Passions and Masses, all Mozart operas, all symphonies by Beethoven, Schubert, Bruckner, Brahms, Mozart, Haydn, Schumann, Rachmaninov, operas by Richard Strauss, Richard Wagner, Giuseppe Verdi and all Instrumental concerts by Beethoven, Brahms, Mozart, Tchaikovski, Rachmaninov, Vivaldi with important orchestras and conductors for LP and CD productions.

Bramman recorded the New Year's Concert of the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra with conductor Nikolaus Harnoncourt in 2000/2001 and 2002/2003 and prepared it for CD, DVD-Video and DVD-Audio. He recorded film scores and traditional Chinese music in Beijing. Many of these productions have received national and international awards. The complete recording of the Beethoven symphonies and the recording of the St. Matthew Passion by JS Bach with Nikolaus Harnoncourt received the Gramophone Award . The St. Matthew Passion received the 2002 Grammy . Brammann's recording of Igor Stravinski's “Apollo, Concerto in D” and Sergei Prokofiev's “20 Visions Fugitives” by the Moscow soloists under Yuri Bashmet received the 2008 Grammy in the category “Best Small Ensemble Performance”.
