Garrett Weber-Gale (born August 6, 1985 in Stevens Point , Wisconsin ) is an American swimmer on the freestyle courses.

Career

Garrett Weber-Gale lives in Austin and studies at the University of Texas , for whose swim team he also competes. The corporate communications student is trained by Eddie Reese. In 2004 Weber-Gale won his first national title in the 100 m freestyle, in 2006 the National Collegiate Athletic Association . He was one of the US squadrons that won the 4 × 100 m freestyle title in Montreal in 2005 and Melbourne in 2007 . However, he was only used in the heats and not in the finals. At the US Trials in 2008 , he won the 50 m and 100 m freestyle and thus qualified for the freestyle relay and the 100 m freestyle route of the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing . There the swimmer from Milwaukee celebrated his greatest success so far by winning the gold medal in the relay in a world record time (3: 08.24 min).
