Matthew Grevers (born March 26, 1985 in Lake Forest , Illinois ) is an American swimmer.

Matt Grevers is a specialist in freestyle and back courses . The swimmer from Tucson won the bronze medal in the 4 × 100 meter freestyle relay at the 2004 World Short Course Championships in Shanghai . The student at Northwestern University achieved seventh place over 100 m back and 100 m medley . The athlete from Tucson Ford Dealers Aquatics qualified for the 2008 Summer Olympics in the US Trials in second over 100 m back and fifth in 100 m freestyle . In Beijing , behind his compatriot Aaron Peirsol, he won the silver medal on the 100-meter back track. He was also used in the run-up to the 4 × 100-meter freestyle relay, which later won gold in the final without him. At the Olympic Games in London in 2012 , he won the title over 100 m backstroke and the medley relay as well as silver in the 4 × 100 meter freestyle relay behind Olympic champion France.
