Daichi Suzuki ( Japanese鈴木 大地, Suzuki Daichi ; born March 10, 1967 in Narashino ) is a former Japanese swimmer.

He was one of the first back swimmers to try a long dive to improve their time. At first he was the fastest swimmer over the first 25 meters, but then couldn't keep up with the world's best over the remaining meters.

At the Olympic Games in Seoul in 1988 , his second Olympic participation after 1984, he was able to use this tactic successfully and became Olympic champion over 100 m back .

Four years later, Mark Tewksbury also achieved Olympic victory over this route using the same tactic.
