Michael Bucher

Michael Bucher (born February 6, 1969 in Vienna ) is a former Austrian judoka .

biography

Michael Bucher started his career at WAT Stadlau . In 1987 he won the Austrian Junior Championships in the 73 kg weight class and thus won another junior title. After graduating from high school, he signed up for the Army Sports Center and was an integral part of the Austrian national team for years . In 1991 he won the renowned World Cup in Leonding . In the same year he started at the European Championships , but retired early.

Towards the end of his active career, he switched to the judo club WSG- Swarovski Judo Wattens for family reasons , for which he fought in the Bundesliga for several years. He currently works for a Tyrolean financial institution .
