Michael James Duff (born January 11, 1978 in Belfast ) is a former Northern Irish football player and current coach. Duff was active for Cheltenham Town and Burnley FC for many years . He could play in both central defense and right full defense.

Career

After being discovered by a Cheltenham scout in 1994, Michael Duff graduated from the club's youth academy. For seven years he was the undisputed regular on Whaddon Road. Due to his constant performance, he made his debut in the national team in 2002. Meanwhile he was able to participate in the prestigious victories over England and Spain .

For 30,000 pounds he returned Cheltenham his back and came in the summer of 2004 after Burnley. In the following years it established itself as an integral part of the club.

After the end of his playing career, he was part of the coaching staff of Burnley's youth division from 2016. He returned to Cheltenham Town in September 2018 and took on his first head coaching post.
