Michael Durst (born October 26, 1953 in Wuppertal ) is a Catholic church historian and patrologist .

Life

Michael Durst studied Catholic theology and philosophy at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn from 1972 to 1977 . From 1977 to 1980 he studied at the Priestly College at Campo Santo Teutonico and at the Pontifical Institute for Christian Archeology in Rome. He was also assistant to Erwin Gatz , the rector of the Campo Santo Teutonico and director of the Roman Institute of the Görres Society . In 1980 he entered the seminary of the Archdiocese of Cologne and received in 1982 at the Cologne Cathedral by Cardinal Joseph Hoffner , the ordination . Durst was chaplain in Bergisch Gladbach from 1982 to 1986. In 1986, he was with Ernst That man at the University of Bonn to Dr. theol. Michael Durst has been a member of the scientific advisory board of the Görres Society since 2000 . Together with Michael Fieger he is the editor of the “Series of publications of the Theological University Chur” and together with Hans Jürgen Münk he is the editor of the “Theological Reports”.
