Michael Fieger
Michael Fieger (* 1959 in Bucharest ) is a German-Swiss theologian .
Life
After moving to the Federal Republic of Germany in 1975, he passed the high school diploma (Abitur) at the grammar school in the Pfarrwiesen in Sindelfingen and studied Catholic theology at the University of Tübingen from 1981 to 1983 and at the University of Munich from 1983 to 1986 . He obtained a licentiate in theology in 1986 and learned the Coptic language from 1986 to 1988 at the University of Munich. After graduation in 1989 doctorate in theology , he was in 1989 deacon in Rottenburg am Neckar consecrated. After his ordination in 1991 in Ulm / Wiblingen , he was head of the Biblical Pastoral Office in the diocese of St. Gallen from 1995 to 2001 . Since 2001 he has been teaching as a full professor for Old Testament sciences and lecturer for Old Hebrew at the Theological University in Chur . From 2003 to 2007 he was Dean of Studies at the Theological University in Chur. He acquired Swiss citizenship in 2010. From 2014 to 2017 he taught as an associate university professor at the Catholic Theol. Faculty of the University of Bucharest . Since 2012 he has been the Erasmus coordinator at the Chur Theological University. From 2012 to 2019 he was President of the Vulgate Association, since 2019 Head of the Vulgate Institute.
