Christoph Bernhard von Twickel

Christoph Bernhard von Twickel (born August 28, 1654 in Havixbeck ; † April 16, 1719 ibid) was a privy councilor and official rescuer in the Rheine-Bevergern office.

Life

Origin and family

Christoph Bernhard von Twickel was born as the son of the married couple Rudolph von Twickel and Ermgard (also Erminigardia) von Bevern , who brought the House of Havixbeck as a  dowry  into the marriage, into an ancient noble family that had its origins in the Netherlands Century appeared in Vreden . On July 27, 1678, he married Anna Franziska Sybilla Droste zu Senden (1649–1730). The children Ernst Friedrich , Johann Wilhelm , Johann Rudolf and Jobst Matthias emerged from the marriage.

Career and work

Christoph Bernhard was brought up in his parents' house, Haus Havixbeck, and at the court of the sovereign. With the receipt of the tonsure on December 17, 1667, he was prepared for a clerical office. From 1672 to 1674 he was a company commander in the body regiment of the Prince-Bishop of Galen during the Holland campaign. He was also a participant in the Imperial War against France. On January 15, 1678, he was initially assigned to the office of Rheine-Bevergern. A year later, he was appointed to resignation from office, and made a living in expanding the traffic routes and in the development and use of mineral resources. The following year he was sworn up to the knighthood of Münster . In the years 1718 to 1719 he was one of the supporters of the Wittelsbachers in the occupation of the bishopric in the north-west German dioceses. His son Johann Rudolf was his successor in the office of Drosten von Rheine-Bevergern.
