Jobst Matthias Freiherr von Twickel (born January 5, 1681 ; † October 30, 1729 in Münster ) was provost in the Prince Diocese of Münster .

Life

Origin and family

As the son of Christoph Bernhard von Twickel (* 1650, † 1719, Drost zu Rheine and Bevergern) and Anna Franziska Sybille Droste zu Senden (1649–1730), Jobst Matthias grew up with his brothers Ernst Friedrich , Johann Wilhelm and Johann Rudolf in the ancient Westphalian noble family von Twickel .

Career and work

After studying at the universities in Siena , Rome and Angers , Jobst Matthias received a cathedral priest in Speyer. In 1697 he was awarded the prebend for the deceased Johann Heidenreich von Ascheberg by the Turnar . With the help of the Raesfelder Foundation, a study trip to Rome and a study in Siena could be financed.
