Michael Dusek (born November 10, 1958 in Niederwörresbach ) is a former German soccer player and today's soccer coach . From 1979 to 1988 he played nine seasons in the Bundesliga as a defender for 1. FC Kaiserslautern . Dusek played 210 games and scored ten goals.

His greatest successes include reaching the DFB Cup in 1981, which was lost 3-1 to Eintracht Frankfurt , a third place in the Bundesliga 1979/80 and two fourth places at the end of the Bundesliga seasons 1981 and 1982. One title remained but denied him in his career.

After ending his career at the age of 29 due to injury, he started a career as a coach.

His first coaching station was at SV Niederwörresbach. He coached the team from 1988 to 1991. Then he moved to TuS Tiefenstein until 1994. On July 1, 1994, he took over the team at SV Wittlich .

From July 1, 1996 to June 30, 1999, he coached the SC 07 Idar-Oberstein team . His greatest successes were the runner-up in the Oberliga in 1997, the SWFV Cup victory in 1998 and entry into the 1st DFB Cup main round (against Arminia Bielefeld in front of 5000 spectators in the Im Haag stadium ) and promotion to the Regionalliga West / Südwest in 1999.

From July 1st, 1999 to September 3rd, 2001 he coached the amateur team of 1. FC Kaiserslautern and then took over the U19 junior team. At the beginning of the 2006/07 season, Dusek ended his involvement with the "Red Devils" due to health problems.

In the 2007/08 season he was in charge of the A-Junior Association League team of TuS Mörschied. After a failed start to the season of his ex-club, SC 07 Idar-Oberstein , and the dismissal of Patric Muders, Dusek took over the south-west upper division as a coach and led him to the upper division championship and the associated promotion to the regional division in the 2010/11 season. In the summer of 2011 he took over the coaching position at FK Pirmasens . There he was released after one season in June 2012. The reasons given were missed sporting goals and differing views on the future direction of the club.

Since November 2013 Michael Dusek was involved in the training work of the national league club FC Viktoria Merxheim. He supported player-coach Sebastian Kilp as much as possible. Associated with Dusek's entry, a sporting upswing could be seen. In summer 2014 he took over the club as a coach. In December 2014, he announced his resignation. The main reason for the decision was the discrepancy between Dusek's attitude to football and that of the Merxheim players.

In the summer of 2015 Michael Dusek became a coach at SV Nanzdietschweiler.
