Life

Soulé did his Ph.D. in Population Biology from Stanford University with Paul R. Ehrlich . He later became a Research Professor (Emeritus) in Environmental Studies at the University of California , Santa Cruz. The title of his dissertation was Evolution and population phenetics of the side-blotched lizards (Uta stansburiana and its relatives) on the islands in the Gulf of California, Mexico .
