Michael FP Huber

Michael FP Huber (born November 25, 1971 in Innsbruck ) is an Austrian composer .

Life

Michael FP Huber attended the music high school in Innsbruck. He learned the instruments piano, violin and trombone. From 1990 to 1992 he received private composition lessons from Peter Suitner, and from 1991 to 1992 he studied musicology and education at the University of Innsbruck. He then moved to the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna, where he studied composition and music theory from 1992 to 1998. His teachers were Iván Eröd (composition, harmony, counterpoint), Kurt Schwertsik (composition), Klaus-Peter Sattler (media composition , film music) and Christian Mühlbacher (jazz theory and arrangement). From 1997 to 1999 he received multiple scholarships from the Filmwerkstadt Essen and participated in the “European Film Music Workshops”. From 1998 to 2001 he worked as a composer, arranger, music setter and private piano and theory teacher, from 2001 to 2002 as a sound editor at the Vienna Symphonic Library . In the following years he worked as a private piano and composition teacher in Vienna, before he started working for the Tyrolean Music School in 2004. Since then he has been teaching piano, music theory and chamber music and has worked as a répétiteur. He is also regularly involved in various concert projects as a musician.
