Michael F. Rohde

Michael F. Rohde (born March 20, 1958 ) is a German lighting designer , architect and manager of a lighting planning office based in Berlin .

Life

Michael F. Rohde studied architecture at the University of Karlsruhe and graduated in 1987. He then worked for three years as an architect in Mannheim for Carlfried Mutschler . After completing his postgraduate studies, supported by a scholarship from Siemens AG, he received his Master of Science degree in "Light and Lighting" from the Bartlett School of Architecture in London in 1992 . After years of working in the lighting factory of Siemens AG, he founded his company L-Plan Lichtplanung in 1998. The company designs light for museums, sacred buildings , representative buildings, office and administration buildings, traffic structures, sales rooms, hotels and restaurants, media facades and outdoor spaces.

He is a member of IALD (International Association of Lighting Designers) and PLDA (Professional Lighting Designers Association).

In 2006 he was offered a professorship for "Light, Space and Communication" at the University of Wismar .
