Michael Falkenmayer (born November 26, 1982 in Boppard ) is a former German soccer player .

Career

The 1.83 m tall midfielder began his career in 1996 at TuS Koblenz . From 2002 to 2005 he played at 1. FSV Mainz 05 , for which he played eight games in the 2. Bundesliga , but was mostly used in reserve. He then moved to Eintracht Trier and FK Pirmasens for one year each .

At the Pirmasensern, after his career stalled as a result of four knee operations, he made a new attempt and made 31 league games there. From the 2007/08 season he was under contract with regional league club SC Pfullendorf , for which he completed 163 games in which he scored eleven goals. For the 2011/12 season, coach Kristijan Đorđević appointed him captain of the club from Linzgau .

For the 2013/14 season, Falkenmayer returned to the FSV Mainz 05 regional league team. With the Mainz Reserve he rose from the Regionalliga Südwest to the 3rd division .

In October 2014, Falkenmeyer suffered an adductor rupture and has not played a game since then. He ended his career as a player in June 2016.

He is the assistant coach initially to Sandro Schwarz and now to Achim Beierlorzer for the first team at Mainz 05.
