Michael Freiberg (politician)

Michael Freiberg (born March 8, 1956 in Berlin ) is a German politician ( CDU ).

Life

Freiberg attended the technical college for administration and economics, later the technical college for administration and judiciary in Berlin , where he obtained the title of diploma administration economist .

From 1978 to 1990 he was a member of the Neukölln district office , where he mainly worked in the finance, human resources and construction departments. From 1990 to 1995 he worked in the Senate Department for the Interior of the State of Berlin, where he was initially responsible for university affairs in the state. Then he was management and parliamentary advisor to Senator Dieter Heckelmann, Government Director and Deputy Head of the Organization and Personnel Consolidation Unit. From 1995 to 2006 he was again a member of the Neukölln District Office. There he was first district councilor for finances, human resources, administration, economics, veterinary and food inspection, then from 1999 to 2001 deputy district mayor and district councilor for finances, human resources and administration and then district councilor for health, environment, citizen services.

Freiberg has been self-employed since March 2007.

Freiberg was deputy chairman of the Neukölln district association and chairman of the Alt-Rixdorf local association at the CDU . He was also a member of the board of the Neukölln district association of the medium-sized and business association of the CDU Berlin.

In the election for the Berlin House of Representatives in 2011 , Freiberg stood as a candidate and initially failed to move in, although he was number 1 on the CDU district list in Neukölln. With Falko Liecke's resignation , Freiberg finally moved into the House of Representatives , of which he was a member until 2016.

In lobby control and in other media Freiberg was criticized for combining his parliamentary activities with lobbying. On the side of his management consulting firm Freiberg-Consulting, as a member of parliament, he had expressly advertised his lobbying activities: We support you in your lobbying work.
