Michael joy
Michael Freude , also Freud , Michael Freude the Younger (* around 1645 in Kuppentin ; † December 26, 1692 in Lübeck ) was a German educator and librarian.
Life
Michael Freude was a son of the eponymous pastor to cupentess Michael Freude ( the elder ) and his wife Christine, geb. Pol (t) z, a daughter of the Wismar rector Johann Polz († 1645) .
In 1661 he enrolled at the University of Rostock ; Another enrollment took place in 1671. In September 1672 he defended a disputation chaired by Johann Wilhelm Petersen .
After completing his studies, he was appointed sub-principal of the Great City School in Wismar on November 15, 1676 . In 1677 he was promoted to vice rector here. In 1688 the Council of the Hanseatic City of Lübeck appointed him as the successor to David van der Bruges as sub-rector at the Katharineum in Lübeck . Linked to this was the management of the city library .
His wife died in Wismar in 1686. One son, Michael Christoph Freude, baptized on January 14, 1679, studied in Rostock in 1699. One daughter was probably Christine Katharine Freude, wife of the garrison preacher of Wismar and later pastor of Marnitz , Johann Georg Martini, who was baptized without a first name in Wismar on October 12, 1683 and buried in the Graumönchenkirche on July 12, 1713 .
