David van der Bruges

David van der Brugge , also from Bruges , van der Brugge (* 1630 in Lübeck , † April 19, 1688 ibid) was a German educator and librarian .

Life

David van der Brugge was matriculated at the University of Rostock in 1645 . In 1664 the council of the Hanseatic City of Lübeck appointed him as the successor of Johann Polz, who had been promoted to vice-rector, as sub-rector at the Katharineum in Lübeck . The management of the city ​​library was also connected to this position .

He mainly wrote (new) Latin poetry for occasional and personal fonts. Johann Wilhelm Petersen learned Latin poetics from him.
