Michael Frings (lawyer)

Michael Frings (born February 8, 1949 in Neuss ) is a German lawyer and professor at the FH Aachen .

Life

Born in Neuss, Frings graduated from high school in 1967 . He then began studying law at the Universities of Cologne and Geneva , which he completed in 1973 with the first state examination. In 1975 he was with the work the influence of private law state rights treaties and national laws on international air transportation contract at Cologne University for doctor of law doctorate. After the legal traineeship , which he completed in Lima , among other places , Frings joined the civil service as a judge in 1977. Until 1994 he held various positions, including at the regional court and the higher regional court in Cologne. In 1994 he received the call to a professorship for Economic and Labor at the Department of Economics of the FH Aachen. Since 2002 he has been in charge of the chair for civil law , German and international law. In addition to his work as a professor, Frings is also committed to the international work of the university. For example, he has been the international representative for Northern Europe for his department since 1999.
