Michael Grossheim

Michael Großheim (born April 11, 1962 in Todenbüttel ) is a German philosopher and professor at the University of Rostock .

Life

Großheim studied philosophy, history and German literary history from 1981 to 1993 under Hermann Schmitz at the Christian-Albrechts-Universität zu Kiel . He received his doctorate in 1993 and his habilitation in 2000. From 2001 to 2002 he was a professor of philosophy at the Albert Ludwig University of Freiburg , and from 2002 to 2006 a professor of philosophy at the University of Rostock. Then on February 1, 2006, he filled the Hermann Schmitz Endowed Professorship for Phenomenological Philosophy at the University of Rostock for the first time , where he also worked as Vice Dean for Research from 2008 to 2012 . For a time he was a liaison professor at the Friedrich Ebert Foundation . He has been a member of the Scientific Advisory Board of the Philosophical Yearbook since 2015 .

Großheim takes a position based on phenomenology and the philosophy of life . His work on Ludwig Klages opened up a new perspective on his position in the history of philosophy . He is president of the Society for New Phenomenology .
