Michael Hengst (* 1962 ) is a former German computer game journalist and today's games producer.

life and career

After graduating from secondary school in 1979, Michael Hengst initially trained as a retail salesman and worked in this profession for several years. At the end of 1988 he applied to Power Play and was finally brought to the editorial office of Markt & Technik Verlag in Munich by Anatol Locker . In 1989, Hengst began working there as an editor. His editorial colleagues at the time included Anatol Locker, Boris Schneider , Heinrich Lenhardt and Martin Gaksch . From 1991 he also wrote for the newly founded Video Games , which was also published by Markt & Technik Verlag.

In 1993 he was promoted to editor-in-chief of Power Play and headed it until the spring of 1995. Disappointed with the publisher's management, he finally left the editorial team and then worked in the software industry, but returned to the editorial team of Power Play and Video Games in 1997.

Then he left the editorial team for good and worked as a game producer, among others at JoWooD and Playlogic . From 2006 to 2008 he worked as a senior producer at the game developer SteelMonkeys in Minsk , Belarus .

Then stallion was Senior Producer at Gameforge hired before settling in mid-2011 with his studio Flying Fish Kopp Production independently made.

Today, Hengst occasionally works as an editor for the magazine Retro and was also involved in CHIP PowerPlay in 2012 , a special issue on the occasion of the 25th birthday of Power Play.
