Stanley R. Jaffe
Stanley Richard Jaffe (born July 31, 1940 in New Rochelle , New York ) is an American film producer who was awarded the Oscar in the category of best film in 1980 for the film Kramer vs. Kramer .
Life
Jaffe began his work as a producer in 1969 with the films The Devil with Innocence and The Steps of the Murderer .
From 1979 he worked as an independent producer and his first film was Kramer versus Kramer . For this he received the Oscar in 1980 , he was also awarded the Italian film prize David di Donatello . A fateful affair earned him an Oscar nomination in 1988 .
In 1983 he made his directorial debut with the drama One Morning in May . So far it has been his only directorial work.
In 1984 he founded the independent production company Jaffe-Lansing together with Sherry Lansing. Together, the two were nominated for an Oscar in 1988 for their production A Fateful Affair . They worked together as producers until the early 1990s.
Jaffe is married and has four children. His father Leo Jaffe was also active as a film producer.
