Michael Henry Marsham, 7th Earl of Romney (born November 22, 1910 in Rougham, Norfolk , † June 5, 2004 in Rougham, Norfolk) was a British nobleman .

Life

He was born the son of Reginald Hastings Marsham (1865-1922) and Dora Hermione North († 1922) on Washpit Farm in Rougham, Norfolk. His paternal grandfather was Charles Marsham, 4th Earl of Romney . He attended the Sherborne School .

He worked as a land manager in the service of Shane O'Neill, 3rd Baron O'Neill, on an estate in Randalstown, County Antrim , Northern Ireland . During the Second World War he served in the British Army in a unit of the coastal artillery and rose to the rank of major until his retirement in 1945 . In 1963 he quit his job as a land manager in Randalstown and retired at Washpit Farm in Rougham.

When his cousin Charles Marsham, 6th Earl of Romney died on September 6, 1975, he inherited his nobility title Earl of Romney , along with the subordinate titles 7th Viscount Marsham , 9th Baron Romney and 13th Baronet .
