Michael Beckwith Hiltner , since 1979 Victor Vicente of America , (born March 7, 1941 in Los Angeles ) is a former American cyclist and today's designer .

Career

In 1959, Michael Hiltner became the youngest rider in history to win the Canadian Tour de Saint-Laurent , and the following year the Tour of Somerville . Also in 1960 he started at the Olympic Games in Rome and finished 24th in the road race . Four years later, at the games in Tokyo , he reached only place 100. Three times he started at UCI Road World Championships , twice at Pan American Games and drove several races in Europe , where he lived for some time. 1965 Hiltner was the first official American champion of amateur road racing and won the Bob Cook Memorial / Mt. Evans Hill Climb .

  • Michael Hiltner was involved in the development of human powered vehicles , such as a taxi, and with it set a transcontinental record in 1975 for the route Santa Monica - Atlantic City - Santa Monica, over 36 days and eight hours. He then changed his name to Victor Vicente of America .
