Michael Hofnagel

Michael Hofnagel (* 1968 in Warburg , North Rhine-Westphalia ) is a German politician ( CDU ). From February 2002 to January 2014 he was mayor of the city of Taunusstein .

Life

Hofnagel graduated from high school in Warburg in 1987 . In 1991 he completed vocational training as an insurance salesman at R + V Versicherung , where he worked in sales from 1991 to 1992. From 1993 to 1995 he worked at Allianz . In 1995 he received his degree in business administration from the Mainz University of Applied Sciences . Hofnagel worked from 1995 to 2002 at Allgemeine Kreditversicherung AG Mainz.

Hofnagel's political career began in the Junge Union Taunusstein, which he joined in 1991. From 1992 to 1996 he acted as its chairman. Furthermore, from 1994 to 2001 he was deputy chairman of the board of the CDU-Stadtverband Taunusstein, and from 1995 to 1998 deputy district chairman of the Junge Union Rheingau-Taunus. In 1997 Hofnagel became a city councilor in Taunusstein. On September 2, 2001, he was elected mayor of Taunusstein with 60.3% of the valid votes. On September 2, 2007 he was re-elected, receiving 58.5% of the valid votes. In the mayoral election in 2013, he decided not to run again.

Hofnagel is married and has two children, a son and a daughter.
