Michael Huber (politician)

Michael Huber (born September 11, 1866 in Gilgenberg am Weilhart , Upper Austria; † June 25, 1949 in Geinberg , Upper Austria) was an Austrian priest and Christian social politician .

Life

Huber studied theology and was ordained a priest in Linz in 1890 . For almost 20 years he worked as a cooperator , provisional and pastor in various Upper Austrian parishes until he was pastor of Geinberg for 17 years. Here, in addition to pastoral work, he devoted himself intensively to the farming community. He founded the Geinberg electricity cooperative, the Innviertel warehouse cooperative and the Geinberg dairy cooperative.

In the period between 1913 and 1918 Huber was a member of the Reichsrat and then until 1919 of the Provisional National Assembly . He was a member of the state parliament from 1909 to 1918 and then a member of the provisional state assembly until 1919 .
