Michael Josef Maria Birkenbihl , also Michael Joseph Maria Birkenbihl or Michael Birkenbihl sen. , (Born June 23, 1877 in Würzburg ; † 1960?) Was a German philosopher and teacher with a doctorate as well as author of stories, novellas and biographies and translator.

He was born the son of a furrier and fur trader and attended the humanistic Königliche Neue Gymnasium in Würzburg, where he graduated from high school. Then Birkenbihl studied in Würzburg , Freiburg im Breisgau and in Munich. In 1905 he wrote a doctoral thesis in philosophy on the subject of Georg Friedrich Daumer . Contribute to the story of his life and his west-east poetry . Then he entered the higher education service and taught a. a. at the commercial academy in Munich .

As a translator he worked on Nordic folk tales and Hans Christian Andersen's fairy tales of my life in 1921 .

As a book author, he created the novella Der Madonnenmaler , published in 1905, and Vorwärts , published in 1914, through his own efforts. Life pictures of famous men as well as 1920 demonic novels and 1921 novellas of passion .

He was the father of Michael Birkenbihl (junior) and the grandfather of Vera Felicitas Birkenbihl .
