Michael Josten

Michael Josten (* 1953 in Wuppertal ) is a German tax advisor and entrepreneur who was convicted in 2007 of breach of trust and favoring creditors . Josten gained notoriety above all as the former CEO and later supervisory board of Teldafax .

Life

Josten was a tax advisor and auditor in Landshut . After reunification , he became the CDU state treasurer in Saxony-Anhalt . In 1994 he resigned from this office due to a spy affair.

In the 1990s he built up the Secur-Finanz-Gruppe, which sold closed-end real estate funds, but collapsed in 1999. During the first investigations into the Secur-Finanz Group, he joined Teldafax, where he was at times partner , chairman of the board and supervisory board. In 2007, he was following the pyramid scheme Financial Group Secure the embezzlement in 176 cases and creditors favored by the Mannheim Regional Court sentenced to two and a half years in prison; the judges attested him "considerable criminal energy". Josten settled in Switzerland . In April 2010 he was extradited to Germany. He was in custody from June 2010 to August 2011. As an outdoor man , he continued to drive Teldafax. He was released on the basis of a "favorable social prognosis " attested by the Karlsruhe Higher Regional Court .
