Ilyas Düissenuly Süleimenow [ Ilyas sʉlejmenov ] ( Kazakh Ільяс Дүйсенұлы Сүлейменов , Russian Ильяс Дуйсенович Сулейменов Ilyas Duissenowitsch Suleimenow * 21st December 1990 in the settlement Krasnosnamenskoje , Oblast Tselinograd , Kazakh SSR , USSR ) is a Kazakh boxer. He won the silver medal at the Asian Championships in 2011 and participants in the 2012 Olympic Games in London in the flyweight .

Career

Although he had never won the national championships, Süleimenow was nominated for the 2011 Asian Championships and surprisingly won the silver medal with victories against Hatsanai Phoilevy, Laos (RSC 2nd), Julio Bria, India (29:11) and Rey Saludar, Philippines (30:17) and a point defeat in the final against Chang Yong, China (15:16).

Despite this success, Süleimenow did not take part in the world championships in the same year. Since the Kazakh representative Olschas Sattibajew was eliminated in the preliminary round and Süleimenow fought against India, France and Russia , and others in the spring of 2012 . a. with a win against the French Nordine Oubaali , who showed very good shape, Süleimenow was nominated for the Asian Olympic qualification tournament in Astana . At the 2013 World Championships in Almaty , Süleimenow was eliminated after victories over Andrew Maloney, Australia (3-0), and Azat Usenaliyev, Kyrgyzstan (2-1), in the quarter-finals against Andrew Selby , Wales (2-1). In 2014 he won the Asian Games in Incheon with a final victory over Shahobiddin Zoirov, Uzbekistan (2-1) .
