Michael "Lufa" Kadosh (born April 23, 1940 in Alexandria , Egypt , † April 29, 2014 ) was an Israeli football player and coach.

Athletic career

Kadosh came to Israel from Egypt with his family at the age of nine. The goalkeeper later joined the Maccabi Jaffa club, founded in 1949 , for whom he made his adult debut. In 1959 he moved to the newly founded Hakoah Ramat Gan , with whom he won the championship in 1965. He then tried a move to South Africa to the first division promoted Westview Apollon , but the transition was not approved by the Israel Football Association and after several months he returned to Israel. In 1969 he won the Israeli State Cup .

1970 Kadosh moved within the Ligat ha'Al to Maccabi Netanja , at the end of the season he won his second championship title. Nevertheless, he moved directly to Maccabi Tel Aviv , where he also won the championship in his first season.

After the end of his active career in 1976, Kadosh moved directly to the coaching bench. Until his death in 2014, he looked after a total of 19 club teams, some of which he was employed at several clubs. Several times he coached subclass teams, which he led to promotion. These include former master clubs such as his former playing station Hakoah Ramat Gan, with whom he rose to the first division in 1979, as well as Beitar Jerusalem ( first division promotion 1992) or Hapoel Be'er Scheva ( first division promotion 2001). The greatest success in addition to a total of eight promotions was winning the league cup with Hakoah Ramat Gan in 1997 during his third coaching stay with the club.

Most recently, in 2013, Kadosh saved the former first division club Hapoel Aschkelon from relegation to the third division, before he had to retire after 37 years in the coaching bench due to cancer . He succumbed to cancer in April 2014.
