Michael Kiene
Michael Kiene (born September 21, 1955 in Osnabrück ) is a German art historian and lecturer at Cologne University .
Life
Kiene is the son of the master confectioner Georg Karl Wilhelm Kiene and his wife Gertrud Hedwig (née Schumann). He first attended the Martin Luther elementary school and until 1971 the Möser secondary school. After completing secondary school, he moved to the Graf-Stauffenberg-Gymnasium , where he graduated from high school on May 18, 1974. He then enrolled at the University of Münster for the 1974/1975 winter semester and studied German, art history and political science. Already during his studies he dealt extensively with university architecture, initially with a focus on the architecture of Great Britain, but also the rest of Europe. In 1977 he passed his Philosophicum (pre-examination) in Münster. He completed his studies in 1981 with a doctorate on the subject of the English and French types of colleagues. University architecture between sacralization and secularization . In 1991 he was at Cologne University with a thesis on Bartolomeo Ammannati habilitation . In 1993 he was in charge of an exhibition on the Italian painter and architect Giovanni Paolo Pannini , which was shown in the Herzog Anton Ulrich Museum in Braunschweig and in the Louvre in Paris .
Kiene is an adjunct professor for general art history at the Art History Institute of the University of Klön.
He published the albums in the Cologne University and City Library with architectural drawings by the architect Jakob Ignaz Hittorff . The project he supervised to inventory the drawings from the trip that Hittorff took to Italy from 1822 to 1824 was funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG) from 2009 to 2014 .
