Michael Koch (born September 27, 1969 ) is a former German soccer player . The 1.81-meter-tall cook played the position of the striker.

career

Koch began his career at Altonaer FC 93 in the Amateur Oberliga Nord before moving to the Bundesliga for Hamburger SV in 1989 . There the offensive man could not prevail. He moved to Hannover 96 in 1991 and experienced the greatest success of his career, winning the DFB Cup in 1992 . In the final against Borussia Mönchengladbach (4: 3 n.E.) Koch was in the starting line-up and was substituted in the 71st minute by Uwe Jursch . Koch had previously scored in the semi-final against Werder Bremen (7: 6 n.E.) in the 96th minute to make it 1-0. With that, Hanover qualified for the European Cup Winners' Cup and, curiously, was drawn in the first round against Werder Bremen: Bremen was the defending champion in this competition. Koch lost this revenge with Hanover (1: 3 and 2: 1). Koch moved to the Stuttgarter Kickers two years later and was transferred to the regional league club VfB Lübeck for the 1994/95 season . With VfB he was promoted to the 2nd Bundesliga , where with 10 goals he surprisingly stayed in the league. After a disappointing year , he went back to the Regionalliga Nord with Lübeck. In 1998 he left the club and ended his career at FC Schönberg 95 .

Koch now works as a scout and a player's agent.
