Michael Krings (born May 12, 1861 in Cologne ; † July 16, 1939 in Segendorf ) was an entrepreneur and member of the German Reichstag .

Life

Krings attended high school and passed the commercial apprenticeship in Cologne. After a year of service, he spent two years as a volunteer in Antwerp , Genoa and Naples . In 1880/81 he served as a one-year volunteer in the 5th Rhenish Infantry Regiment No. 65. In 1885 he took over the Karl-Wagner-Beinwarenfabrik factory in Niederbieber, which he ran . From 1905 he was head of the United Beinwarenfabriken (Syndicate) in Neuwied . From 1902 he was a member of the municipal council and from 1910 a member of the mayors' assembly. He was also chairman of the Catholic commercial association Hansa in Neuwied, a member of the advisory board of the Association of Catholic commercial associations in Germany (based in Essen ) and chairman of the center party of the Neuwied district. He received the Cross of Merit Pro Ecclesia et Pontifice in gold.

From 1912 to 1918 he was a member of the German Reichstag for the constituency of Koblenz District 2 ( Neuwied ) and the German Center Party .
