Michael Lamey (born November 29, 1979 in Amsterdam ) is a former Dutch football player of Nigerian descent.

Athletic career

Lamey started his football career in the famous Ajax school and in 2001 he moved from the Ajax Amsterdam youth to RKC Waalwijk . After only one year in Waalwijk, PSV Eindhoven became aware of the young right-back and signed him for just under 4.3 million euros in the 2002 season . After a rather disappointing year, Michael Lamey was loaned to FC Utrecht .

When Lamey returned in 2004, he could not really assert himself at PSV Eindhoven and in 2007 he moved to the newly promoted Bundesliga MSV Duisburg . There he was a regular player in the defense and came to 25 Bundesliga appearances, but had to relegate the team to the 2nd division at the end of the season. For the 2008/09 season Lamey moved to Arminia Bielefeld , where he received a contract for the first and second Bundesliga.

In August 2010 Lamey moved to Leicester City in the Football League Championship in England. After an unsuccessful year, he moved to Wisła Krakow in July 2011 . At the end of the season, his contract was not extended, so that he was initially without a club for a few months.

In October 2012 he returned to the Netherlands and signed a three-year contract until the end of June 2015 with his former club RKC Waalwijk in the Eredivisie .
