Michael Müller (local history researcher)

Michael Müller (born May 27, 1849 in Oberndorf near Eger ; † May 29, 1914 in Franzensbad ) was a German doctor and local researcher.

Life

Müller comes from the farm no.13, the former Solchenhof in Oberndorf (Horni Ves), which came to the Müller family in 1825 through marriage. He studied medicine at the German Charles University in Prague . After receiving his doctorate , he worked as a general practitioner in Franzensbad from 1876. He gave many lectures and wrote articles on folklore, homeland and family history of the Egerland.

Dr. med. Michael Müller built up a collection of numerous traditional costumes, tools, glasses and pictures from the history of the Egerland , which consisted of around 1,500 objects and which were bequeathed to the city museum in Eger after his death.
