Michael Nast
Michael Nast (born February 26, 1975 in Berlin - Köpenick ) is a German writer and columnist . He currently lives in Berlin- Friedrichshain .
His brother is Jan Nast, the orchestra director of the Sächsische Staatskapelle Dresden .
Life
After school and community service, Michael Nast founded two record labels before starting an apprenticeship as a bookseller, which he broke off after six months. He then worked for various advertising agencies, most recently as art director .
In 2007 he started writing his big city column blog on Myspace , dealing with the difficulties of everyday life, relationships and life in the big city in a humorous way. In the further course he wrote for the magazine of the Berliner Zeitung and the magazine Freund .
His book Is that love or can it go away? Stayed in the Spiegel bestseller list for six weeks, the incapacitated generation on the Spiegel bestseller list for 46 weeks, eleven weeks of which at number one.
Today Michael Nast regularly publishes columns on freundin.de and “on the contrary”. His column “Generation Relationship Unable” was one of the most successful German online texts of 2015 and was read by over a million people in the first week. The blog title became the title of his book, which topped the Spiegel bestseller list for eleven weeks and has now been translated into 9 languages (including Spanish and Korean). With his book, he sparked a nationwide controversy over the alleged inability of generation Y to love. An accompanying reading tour with a total of more than 40,000 visitors took him through 60 cities. Matthias Schweighöfer's production company Pantaleon Films secured the film rights .
