Michael S. Cullen (born June 9, 1939 in New York City , USA ) is an American historian, journalist and publicist. He lives in Berlin.

Life

After studying Russian language and literature (Bachelor of Arts at Brooklyn College in 1962), Cullen came to Germany in 1962 and has lived in Berlin since 1964. In 1984 he finished his studies in history at the Free University of Berlin .

He has published numerous publications on Berlin topics and is involved in several projects with a focus on building history. He is particularly interested in the Reichstag building in Berlin. In 1971 he was the source of ideas for the " Wrapped Reichstag " project. At that time he sent a postcard with the picture of the Reichstag to Christo and Jeanne-Claude and was able to interest them in the project. However, it should take until June 1995 before the Reichstag was actually covered.
