Michael Schäfer (born June 16, 1972 in Giessen ) is a former politician ( Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen ) and climate protector .

biography

Michael Schäfer graduated from high school in 1991 and then did community service. Then he studied from 1993 to 1999 Public Administration at the University of Konstanz , the York University in Toronto ( Canada ) and the University of Potsdam , where he graduated in 1999 graduated with a diploma.

From 1999 to 2000 he trained as a copywriter and from 1999 to 2002 was a copywriter at Kolle Rebbe advertising agency, Hamburg .

From December 2016 to May 2017 Michael Schäfer was project manager for industrial policy at the Agora Energiewende think tank . From June 2017 to March 2020, he headed the Climate Protection and Energy Policy Department at WWF Germany and then returned to Agora Energiewende as Senior Advisor with a focus on national policy.

politics

Michael Schäfer joined the Green Party in 1990. From 2003 to 2005 he worked as the office manager of the federal chairman of Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen Reinhard Bütikofer in Berlin. In the 2006 election, Michael Schäfer was elected via the state list as a member of the Berlin House of Representatives, to which he belonged until 2016 and was the energy policy spokesman for his group. Michael Schäfer has been an honorary member of the federal board of Deutsche Umwelthilfe since 2016 .
