Michael F. Scheuer (* 1952 ) worked for the CIA until 2004 . During his 22 years of service, he dealt with various aspects of the Middle East.

Life

From 1995 to 1999 Scheuer headed the unit that hunted down the terrorist Osama bin Laden - the Alec Station ; after the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001 , he acted as her advisor.

After Scheuer left the CIA, he worked as a journalist for the news company CBS News and The Jamestown Foundation .

He is the author of two books, initially published anonymously ( Imperial Hubris: Why the West is Losing the War on Terror ; Through Our Enemies' Eyes: Osama bin Laden, Radical Islam, and the Future of America ), which deal with the US war against terror and the conflict between the West and Islam personified by Osama bin Laden .

In the books, Scheuer criticizes the official view of Western governments that portray the conflict as a conflict of values . Scheuer describes the conflict from the perspective of Islam, which Osama bin Laden believes he can do.
