Michael Schick (born February 29, 1988 in Stuttgart-Bad Cannstatt ) is a German soccer player .

Career

In his youth, the defender initially played at TSV Mühlhausen, later at VfB Stuttgart and the Stuttgarter Kickers . In the summer of 2004 he went to Munich and joined the TSV 1860 . There he played in the club's youth teams until 2007, and in 2007 he won the Junior DFB Cup with the U19s . From the summer of 2007 he was in the squad of the U23 in the Regionalliga Süd , where he made 38 appearances by 2009, in which he scored three goals.

In January 2009, he was used for the first time in a test match with the professionals, but he continued to train with the U23. When Uwe Wolf replaced Marco Kurz as coach at the end of February 2009, Schick, who had just turned 21, made his first professional appearance in the 2nd Bundesliga . In the game against St. Pauli on March 1, 2009, the first game the Lions played under Wolf's direction, he was in the starting line-up. By the end of the season he was used nine times, he scored one goal.

In the summer of 2009, Schick moved to league competitor FC Augsburg , where he signed a contract until 2012. The contract was dissolved in the summer of 2010 by mutual agreement and Schick moved to the third division for SV Sandhausen . In the course of his first season there, he played his way into the regular team and made 15 games this season. But then he lost his place on the team and did not return the following season. A change to Chemnitzer FC during the winter break in 2011/12 did not materialize. At the end of the season, Sandhausen was promoted to the 2nd Bundesliga championship without Schick having played a minute. For the 2012/13 season , Schick moved to Wacker Burghausen . His contract there was not renewed in the summer of 2013.
