Michael Sonnentag (* 1969 in Aalen ) is a German lawyer and professor at the Julius Maximilians University of Würzburg .

Life

After graduating from Parler-Gymnasium in Schwäbisch Gmünd in 1988, Sonnentag began studying law at the University of Heidelberg in the same year . There he passed his first state examination in law in 1993. This was followed by a legal clerkship at the Heidelberg Regional Court . In 1995 he passed his second state examination in Stuttgart. He then worked as a research assistant with Manfred Wandt at the University of Frankfurt am Main . There doctorate sunny day in November 2000 with summa cum laude to the Dr. iur. From 2004 to 2006 Gerhard Hohloch was a research assistant at the University of Freiburg . Sonnentag completed his habilitation in 2011 again in Frankfurt, with which he was awarded the Venia legendi for the subjects of civil law, European and international private law, comparative law and civil procedural law.

In the summer semester of 2012, Sonnentag had lectureships at the universities of Frankfurt am Main and Trier . In the following winter semester he took up a chair in Frankfurt, and in the summer semester 2013 he took over from Herbert Kronke's chair at Heidelberg University. Since the 2013/14 winter semester, Sonnentag has been professor of private law at the University of Würzburg .

From 2007 until his leave of absence in October 2012, Sonnentag also worked as a judge at the Königswinter District Court .
