Michael Tetzschner (born February 9, 1954 in Copenhagen as Michael von Tetzschner ) is a Norwegian politician of the conservative Høyre party . Since 2009 he has been a member of parliament in Storting .

Life

Tetzschner is a lawyer . From 1975 to 1999 he was a member of the Oslo City Council, and from 1989 to 1991 he was in charge of the Byråd of Oslo, i.e. the city government. From 1991 to 2001 he worked for the research company Sifo in Sweden. From 1995 to 1999 he also served as director of Handelshøyskolen BI . From 2001 he worked as a lawyer, between 2006 and 2012 he was head of the Høyre party in Oslo.

Tetzschner moved into the Norwegian national parliament in Storting for the first time in the 2009 general election . There he represents the constituency of Oslo and he was initially a member of the local and administrative committee. After the 2013 election , he was transferred to the Control and Constitutional Committee, where he was Deputy Chairman. Following the 2017 Storting election , he became deputy chairman of the Committee on Foreign Affairs and Defense.

In 2018 he took over the chairmanship of the Nordic Council .

Private

Tetzschner is married to the Høyre politician Kristin Clemet . Her daughter Jenny Clemet von Tetzschner (* 1991) also works as a politician.
