Michael Thiem

Michael Thiem (born August 24, 1968 in Esslingen am Neckar ) is a German journalist and author . In 2001, together with Thilo Knott , he was awarded the renowned Theodor Wolff Prize for a report in the Eßlinger Zeitung about illegal Internet trade in anabolic steroids . From 2007 to April 2016 he worked as an editor at the media agency C3 Creative Code and Content GmbH in Stuttgart. Since May 2016 he has been the founder and managing director of campra GmbH - Büro für Kommunikation. Thiem lives in Ebersbach an der Fils , is married and has a daughter.

Life

After completing his internship at the Eßlinger Zeitung , Michael Thiem worked in the sports department from 1993 to 2006. In January 2007, the former handball player at TV Altbach moved to the Stuttgart editorial office Head-Line - Die Redaktion. Michael Thiem is one of the founding members of the billiards association Die Schwarze Neun.

Awards

  • 1997: Journalist Prize from the Baden-Württemberg State Sports Association (LSV) for the sports editorial team of the Eßlinger Zeitung.
  • 1999: "Series" honorary award from the Robert Bosch Foundation for the local sports series of the Eßlinger Zeitung: "Open the door for volunteering".
  • 2001: Theodor Wolff Prize for illegal goods from the global doping village in the Eßlinger Zeitung from 15./16. January 2000.
  • 2005: 2nd place local sport journalist award of the Association of German Sport Journalists (VDS) for agents of sport from December 8, 2004.
