Michael Urselmann

Michael Urselmann (* 1966 in Krefeld ) is a German business economist , best known for fundraising .

Life

After studying business administration at the University of Augsburg and the University of Paris II , Urselmann did his doctorate at the University of Saarland on the subject of " Success factors in fundraising for non-profit organizations " (1993–1997). He then headed the GFS Fundraising & Marketing GmbH agency in Bad Honnef and Berlin as managing director (1997–2004) before he was appointed to the Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences in 2004 as the first professor for fundraising in Germany . Urselmann has been Professor of Social Management with a focus on fundraising at the TH Köln since 2005 .

Urselmann has published numerous publications on the topics of fundraising , sponsoring , donations , foundations , corporate social responsibility and social marketing . His dissertation on " Success factors in fundraising for nonprofit organizations " was awarded the Lorenz Werthmann Prize by the German Caritas Association in 1999.

Volunteering

  • Elected member of the German Committee for UNICEF e. V. (since 2009).
  • Advisory board for the “Fundraising Management” diploma course at the Zurich University of Applied Sciences (since 2005).
